We found out by building our own.
Before Girmairi placed a single engineer with a client, we were our own first customer. We built our own products — small startups, run from Dhaka, two or three engineers at a time. Everything this company believes was learned there.

It started with our own startups
In 2017, our founder — a decade into building software inside US health and banking systems — started building products of his own. No funding round, no team of forty. A couple of carefully chosen engineers in Dhaka, a clear roadmap, and long weeks. Products shipped. Users showed up. And something became obvious that we couldn't unsee.

The realization
A small team of genuinely good engineers, set up properly, moves at a pace that looks impossible from the outside. We watched two or three people design, build, and ship systems that — by the standards we knew from the funded world — were supposed to take a Silicon Valley team and a couple of quarters. There was no magic in it. There was focus: no coordination tax, no layers, no ten-person pyramid. Senior judgment, sitting close to the work.
That conviction — a few excellent engineers can rival a funded team — is the entire company. Everything we've built since is machinery for making it repeatable.

So we productized the environment
The pace never came from the engineers alone. It came from what was around them: a real office, real equipment, honest pay, careful vetting, and management that removed obstacles instead of adding layers. So that's what Girmairi became — not a marketplace, not an hour-seller, but the environment itself, offered as a service. A US company. An owned office in Dhaka. Full-time engineers on flat monthly seats. Founded 2017, bootstrapped since day one — we grew the way we tell our clients to build: small, senior, and deliberate.

The founder
Ten years inside regulated US systems — health records at Anthem, retail banking at PNC, payments at BNY — then Girmairi, and today also the CTO of a Saudi-backed company. That dual role isn't a footnote; it's the design:
“Girmairi is designed to run without my daily involvement — delivery managers and systems, not founder heroics. My job is standards and escalation.”
He wrote Elevate (2023) about exactly this — hiring, growing, and keeping the best people — from the years of running this firm. Get the book →

How we treat engineers
None of this works with burned-out people. Our engineers get competitive local packages, real career growth, festival bonuses, and long tenures — because the only version of offshore that actually works is the one where the engineers want to stay. That isn't generosity; it's the business model. Attrition is what kills offshore teams, so we built the company nobody wants to leave.
